Why should I use a cold plunge?(+)

Cold Baths are an immersive experience, encouraging the body to reset on a deep level, boost immunity and increase endorphins. Evidence also suggests that it is extremely effective in using muscle contractions to work the lymphatic system, moving the built up toxins and fluids through and OUT of your body. You’re looking at fewer colds and infections, less joint pain and a stronger immune system. Sounds pretty awesome, huh?

What is the temperature of the plunge set to? (+)

The plunge is typically set between 45-50 degrees. If this is your first time using the plunge we recommend 50-55 degrees to start.

How long should I stay in the cold plunge? (+)

You should stay in the cold bath for at least 1 minute. However you can stay in for up to 10 minutes. Any longer you’ll have diminishing results.

Is Cold Plunge safe? (+)

Yes, it is 100% safe. If this is your first time, we recommend the temperature of the bath be 55. Will it be uncomfortable? Most likely, yes. BUT this way you can ease yourself into the therapy slowly adapting your body. Always consult your physician before starting a new exercise or recovery therapy. Cold therapy at OCAM takes the guesswork out of learning what works best for you because your protocol is custom and can evolve over time as your needs change.

In an intimate and super relaxed environment, we walk you through a step by step process of using your breath to regulate your stress response in increasingly colder temperatures so that you see the greatest benefits.

Do I have to wear a bathing suit? (+)

Yes, bathing suits are required. If you forget yours at home, don’t worry we have your back. A disposable bathing suit will be provided.

How many people can be in the room doing the session? (+)

Only one person will be allowed in the room at a time.

When is the best time to schedule a Cold Plunge? (+)

It’s best to do schedule a session first thing in the morning or after a workout.
